Tai Chi Class

Rudy Pavletic, our favorite Tai Chi instructor
Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and for a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements . If you have ever found yourself in need of low-impact, yet immensely beneficial exercise, or just some serious relaxation, the MRC’s Tai Chi program is certainly for you. Rudy’s class will continue to be the wonderful class that you have all come to know and love, however, it will be moving to a new day. Make sure to join in Thursdays at 9am
Class will be held in the MRC Gymnasium
New participants are ALWAYS welcome!

Rudy Pavletic was born in Gary, Indiana where he graduated from Lew Wallace High School. He served in the Army as an infantryman and years later, joined the Gary Police Department. Rudy started in Karate when he was only 28 years old and still considers himself a lifetime student of martial arts. A karate teacher since 1969, Rudy has taught a multitude of classes on topics ranging from karate to tai chi to everything in between. He opened his Hobart School in 1973 and thus, is celebrating 40 successful years as a Hobart business owner and more importantly, as an instructor and leader in our community. Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment! Rudy’s involvement in the Maria Reiner Center began immediately upon its opening. Without hesitation, he answered our call for volunteer instructors and since that time, has selflessly donated countless hours to serving the Center. We are certainly glad to have him as a part of the MRC, in every capacity: volunteer, instructor, and member. Congratulations to you Mr. Pavletic, on 40 years in Hobart and thank you for all the time that you have spent, and continue to spend, in service to the MRC
